Smokey The Bear's #1 Fan

Today is Smokey The Bear's birthday.  Luke and Grant went with the Boy Scouts to the Bush Library for a fire prevention celebration with Smokey and the Texas Forest Service. When we got to one of the displays I told the Forest Service worker that the boys know the Smokey the Bear song.  The lady was very excited (kids today don't know the song) and L&G sand the song.  She was thrilled and called over a co-worker who she introduced as "Smokey's biggest fan".  The boys sang it again and she asked them if they  would sing the song in the theater during the Smokey presentation.  Luke said yes and Grant looked nervous.  When the time came Luke walked up to the front and Grant stayed in his chair.  Luke grabbed the microphone and sang the entire song for about 50-100 people.  It was hysterical, then they called Luke back up to lead us all in singing happy birthday when Smokey came in.  Then we took a bus tour of Texas A&M's fireman's training center, 126 acres, the largest in the world.  When we returned to the Bush Library Luke and Grant were given the table displays with Smokey the Bear beanie babies and balloons.

Grant the football star

Grant is in his first year of flag football and he loves it.  In his very first game Grant ran for one touchdown and had another very long run scoring the team's only touchdown.  In his second game Grant touched the ball only twice and scored a touchdown each time.  Once on a quarterback keeper and then the next play on an interception, the final score was 14-0.  Yes, Grant is the Man!
